Though there is still some work being done on many fronts, it is not happening as quickly as all would wish. Gail, John, Mary, Candy, and Rob Gray reported work underway or starting.
The following progress was noted:
- Sue was particularly interested in the profile streamlining work and will contact Gail.
- John will work with his subgroup and arrange a conference call among themselves in the next couple weeks.
- Rob will work with his subgroup on the scheme/value question before sending something out to the list.
- Candy will post a proposal and questions around the need for a directory (aka the NCIP phone book). Some discussion during the call helped shape what this proposal will look like.
- The Maintenance Agency has just about completed the migration of content from the old NCIP site. Steve Wrede has redirected traffic to the new NCIP site and will be shutting down the old site at his convenience.
- The group touched on the question of meeting at ALA Midwinter and concluded that there was no benefit in doing so.
- We will address issues around the spring meeting in our February 1 call.
- When asked whether there was anything that NISO could do to help the efforts of this group, the consensus was that promoting use of the standard would be the biggest help.
