Agenda
I. Implementer updates
Polaris – implementing Patron Authentication with OCLC using NCIP v1; working with Baker & Taylor with NCIP v2 (Lookup User and Accept Item)
Extensible Catalog – released NCIP Toolkit v1 (which supports NCIP v2) core code and connectors; have published a roadmap of future plans
Relais International – may have an opportunity to work with Polaris in public libraries in the near future
II. Status of revised documents
RFP Writers Guide, NCIP Section – NISO continues to work to get that published
NCIP 2.02 Revision – drafts ready to go to NISO for final editing and balloting; O’Brien is working on bringing the schema into line with the Standard
Introduction to NCIP – document was converted and published at the NCIP website (http://www.ncip.info/introduction-to-ncip.html) as agreed on the last call
III. Implementer Registry
Gray and Campbell have completed the transfer of the site, but Sandstrum is not yet able to access the new site as an administrator. The host agency is going to republish the site as something like ncip.webenabled.net, but there may be some loose ends to resolve. Gray will look into getting those fixed so that Sandstrum can do what he needs to do.
IV. New Business
The XC is planning to use as extensions two changes (Bibliographic data in the Loaned Items and Requested Items elements) that were discussed at the last meeting. Bodfish will send the XML for the changes to O’Brien so that he can review them and determine if their changes are being made in a way which is compatible with the schema to minimize the amount of rework that might be necessary after 2.02 is published.
V. Next meetings:
a. In-person meeting – April 25-26, 2012 (hosted by TLC)
Marsh sent details to the list recently.
b. Monthly call – January 19, 2012 @ 1 pm Eastern time (U.S.)
