I. Implementer updates
Kelli – TLC Denver: Working with OCLC Navigator with Florida libraries. Reports
some progress with non-NCIP issues preparing the way for NCIP testing
Juli – TLC Winchester: Has live NCIP implementations with Auto-Graphics in
Mississippi, OCLC in Colorado, and Relais in MD (expected live in mid-January)
Randy -- XC: Working on version 1.2 of the XC NCIP Toolkit, which will support
current and prior versions of NCIP (including extensions)
John -- Polaris: Working out some kinks with III in Colorado and Relais in MD. Just
beginning work with Navigator in TX
Mike – Ex Libris: Working with PALCI and Relais in PA; worked successfully with
OCLC to implement interoperability with Navigator – currently working with a
customer to implement new system in production with OCLC Navigator;
investigating integration with Auto-Graphics (SHAREit) and Atlas Systems (ILLiad). II. Update on implementers’ profiles
Rob Walsh has provided an archive file of the vendor implementation profiles that
were previously available on the NCIP IG web site. Most of the profiles were last
updated between 2006 and 2009. Mike will distribute the profiles to the respective
implementers and ask that they update the information and re-submit it so that we
can post the updated profiles on the NCIP SC web site in early 2013.
III. Action items from the October in-person meeting
a. a short version of the schema was discussed – Rob Gray and Tony O’Brien
were going to mock up an example; status is pending
b. updates to the standard – Mike will work with Nettie to finalize the changes
made during the meeting.
IV. Other items
Meet up planned at ALA-MW? No formal event is planned. Kelli and Juli will be
there. Possibly meet informally as time permits
Meet at ALA this summer? The group should plan a meeting as they have in the
past.
Mike participated in the NISO Open Teleconference call on December 10th and gave
an update on NCIP activities over the past year. The teleconference was recorded
and is available from the NISO web site.
As a result of the NISO Open Teleconference, a new member has asked to join the
NCIP SC. The NISO D2D Topic Committee has approved Lori Bowen Ayre (Library
Technology Consultant / The Galecia Group) as a new member of the NCIP SC. Nettie
will send Lori information about the NCIP SC and invite her to the next monthly
conference call.
V. Next meetings:
a. Monthly call – January 17, 2013 @ 1 pm Eastern time (U.S.)
b. In-person meeting – planned for Apr. 23-24, 2013, hosted by OCLC in Dublin,
