February 21, 2013
ATTENDEES: Mike Dicus, John Barr, Rob Gray, Kristen Kokx, Juli Marsh, Randy Cook, Rob Walsh, Kevin Stewart, Lori Ayre, Nettie Lagace, John Bodfish, and Peter Collins – minute taker
I. Implementers updates:
a. Rob @ EnvisionWare – EnvisionWare has been handling the maintenance agency role for a number of years. They need to step away from the role. Is there someone who can take that over? EnvisionWare will continue to subsidize the hosting of the web site and assist with the transition but needs to hand the role to someone else. Maintenance agency role is to take the notes on the call and publish the minutes. Minutes for calls is fairly straightforward; minutes for the in-person meetings take more effort. Maintenance of the web site depends on how much you want to put into it. Also this person will manage change requests for the standard by documenting the changes in the standards document and handing it off to NISO. If you are interested in assuming this role, please talk to Nettie and Mike. (big thanks to Rob all around)
b. Julie @ TLC – Starting an implementation in Texas with OCLC. Still waiting for Michigan to be ready. Getting great feedback on how NCIP improves efficiency from the Marina group in Maryland.
c. John Bar @ Polaris – Their Marina libraries are live and NCIP is working well. Also will be initiating some activity in Texas. Still waiting for Michigan/InnReach (some unrelated technical issue slowing things down).
d. Rob Gray @ Polaris – On a positive note, InnReach will be fixing their “due date issue” in the Denver implementation. They also may begin sending real item libraries in the item request message.
II. Update on implementer profiles
a. Mike sent out the templates to people in January. Some have been returned but not all. If you haven’t returned yours, please do so. These will be posted on the web site.
III. Logistics for April 2013 meeting
a. Do we want to meet?
i. Lori – interested in ramifications of SIP3 and RFID development and how they may impact NCIP development
ii. John Bodfish – has some enhancement requests that still need to be documented. Appreciates the in-person meetings.
iii. Yay’s win
b. What date?
i. Looks like April 22 – 23 is the best time
1. Full day Monday (4/22) and half day on Tuesday (4/23)
ii. Meeting hosted by OCLC in Dublin, OH
c. Expected attendees: John Bodfish, Juli, Rob Gray, John Barr, Lori, Kevin, Peter, Mike
d. Logistics:
i. Columbus is the closest airport, but it on the other side of the city from Dublin
ii. Probably need to rent a car
1. No shuttle to hotels, though there may be public transit options
2. There should be a shuttle from hotel to OCLC
iii. Hotel info to follow
e. Mike will compile an agenda. If you have any ideas, send them his way.
IV. Deadline for submitting defects and/or enhancements is March 1. Submit to email list.
V. Other items for discussion – silence
VI. Next meeting:
a. Conference call: March 21 @ 1:00 p.m.
b. In-person meeting: April 22 – 23 in Dublin, OH
